In that the system provides for reliable attachment, good alignment for both the muzzle device/suppressor and also preferably has features to prevent fouling from entering the attachment area, making it easier to attach and detach the suppressor. If going for a fast attaching suppressor instead of thread mounting suppressor, I would really advise going for a dedicated mounting system from a reputable / quality manufacturer, in which the flash hider or muzzle brake is built with regards to suppressor use. The thicker crush washer on an A1/A2 flash hider can easily cause misalignment for the suppressor, leading to damage to the suppressor
They were never intended as suppressor mounts, so overall the mounting surfaces are not optimal for suppressor use. Large tolerances and a relatively cheap part anyway Many of the assault rifle flash hider designs are now 30-50 years old With regards to suppressor mounting on A1/A2 bird cage flash hiders / other standard assault rifle flash hiders & muzzle brakes. To bump back to topic a little bit: OP, I would advise finding the silencer you like and getting whatever mount that silencer takes pinned on your barrel. I do not have a good feeling about getting issues corrected if I ever do have problems in the future and can not recommend them to somebody who wants to have a good silencer and purchase experience. I like the Griffin products I have, and have had no troubles so far. Especially the actions after the first repair, absolutely inexcusable to allow your products to be a burden to your customers this way. I'm not willing to buy a product from a company that has such poor QC combined with poor follow up CS when I can buy a product from several other companies that both ship consistently good product and stand up to fix any issues correctly and promptly at no out of pocket customer expense.
OP from the other thread reports that Griffin's first fix didn't fix the problem, so this may be a repeated expense So Griffin is OK with QC being the job of the end user and OK with the end user paying a cost to have these manufacturing failures corrected There is no customer notification for dealers or owners of additional products in the affected SN range Griffin CS dropped the ball badly and allowed customers to incur (IMO excessive) expense for additional problems on the same item Griffin QC was not able to detect bad components before shipping product to customers There is an unknown number of Recce5 and Recce7 suppressors in the world that made it through (supposedly) a worker that did poor work and whatever follow up QC they had. It extends the overall length of your build by about 1.5 inches and will make your 12.5 inch barrel in a 12 inch handguard look amazing! This is a basic flash hider that does it's job well. Solid, does its job and looks respectable.
